Monday News, Book Giveaway, and Author Feature! Woot!

Hello Monday!

We are going to have a very exciting week! My friend and writer extraordinaire, T.S. Welti, is being featured here for the whole entire week. She is an amazingly talented woman and I’m very proud to present her awesomeness to you. Her debut novel, The Fifth Specter: Book One of the Parker Chance series is OUT and ready for your reading pleasure! I had the good fortune of snagging a signed copy from Ms. Welti herself, so I’ll be sharing my review soon.

So! Let’s get this started.

To start off, we have a BOOK GIVEAWAY, courtesy of Ms. Welti. All you need to do is answer this simple question:

If you could have a SUPERPOWER, what would it be?

Leave your answer in the comment section below. The contest runs for a week and will end on Monday, August 15th. After the contest ends, the winner will be randomly selected and announced on Tuesday, August 16th.

The prize? A COPY OF THE FIFTH SPECTER BY T.S. WELTI! So go wrack your brain for superpower ideas!

On Wednesday, I’ll be posting my review of The Fifth Specter.

On Friday, Ms. Welti answers my prodding questions in an interview (ala Barbara Walters, or…possibly Rita Skeeter-style.)

So stay tuned and show some love!

T.S. Welti is a single mother living in Southern California. She writes books for kids and teens and bakes in her spare time. In 2005, she began writing  the Parker Chance series while sitting in the shade of a weeping willow on a sweltering summer day. Five years later, she lost her job and book one was still not finished. After many sleepless nights spent slaving away at her keyboard, she was finally able to finish The Fifth Specter and has never looked back. You can find out more about T.S. Welti and the Parker Chance series on her website at

  1. Oh how fun! If I could have any superpower it would probably be either super strength (I could really use some help lifting things) or stretchy limbs. Then I wouldn't have to get up when my kids are getting into something they shouldn't πŸ™‚

  2. I think being able to walk through walls and turn invisible would be cool and very helpful. Especially when trying to avoid people (I am a recovering hermit πŸ™‚

  3. I would have to say my super power would be teleportation. I don't have a car and don't fancy taking the public bus. It would also be nice to travel anywhere in a second. πŸ™‚

  4. Teleportation. Not just through space, though, through time too. How cool would it be to be able to go not just anywhere in a heartbeat, but anytime? That's what I'd call a superpower πŸ˜‰

  5. Can I play? I want to have the power to write a book a day. πŸ˜‰ You are so incredibly awesome, Cherie! And you are definitely more Barbara than Rita. I can't wait to see your review. Haha, Jen! Stretchy limbs for restraining rowdy children. I smell a new character being born…. East Coaster: Telepathy comes with a burden, as one of my main characters finds out. But it sure would be fun to know what your mother-in-law is thinking when she gives you that phony smile. :)Krista: I totally agree on teleportation. And it's good for the environment. πŸ™‚ maybe in the future, politicians will try to get elected by promising to bring teleportation to the masses. A girl can dream.Haha, Jessie! I want a maid, too. I guess I can settle for telekinesis. πŸ™‚

  6. My superpower of choice would KUNG FU KAPOW the bad guy whenever I walked away. They'd call me CAPTAIN COWARD. But if you scare me, you'll pay!

  7. Teleportation, all the way baby. Go anywhere you want, instantly? Hells yeah. No traffic, no jet lag, no travel time, the world is your oyster…Plus, you know, perfect for a life of crime. Not that I would EVER use my powers for evil…

  8. FUN! I love you awesome ladies! Now, I don't need to be entered in the game (as I have both a hard copy AND digital copy of this amazing book), but I want to play the "What Super Power game…"If I could… I think I would have the super power to travel through time with a sub-power of being able to DECIDE when/where I go. Forward, backward, leaping– you name it. I'd love to see the world from different times and places. πŸ˜‰

  9. Great question! I'd like the superpower of time creation – the ability to add a couple of secret hours to the day – just for me! And other writers & readers of course :)The book sounds terrific!

  10. I concur Cherie! Ooh I know! Next blogvel (or maybe a goatpossegroupbook hmm?) could be a MG about a group of kids who get their hands on a genie lamp and wish to be superheroes!

  11. Yes but every superpower comes with its version of kryptonite and we all know the rookster is a modern day samson! Clearly her power lies in her shakira hair! Cut her hair and her superpowers go poof!

  12. @Kalen: re blogvel–I like the way you think, my friend. And I think you're right about the rookstar. Her power lies inside her Shakira hair and its name is Melvin, the hamster. πŸ˜‰

  13. I don't even need to think twice– I'd choose the ability to stop time as my super power! Then I could have time to do all the things I need to do. If that one's taken, I'd take the ability to not have to sleep. Or at least not for long. πŸ™‚

  14. I'd be a goat girl! Be able to eat ANYTHING I wanted and not worry about my stomach hurting afterward, be able to climb anything and have a head hard enough to butt people into submission and bow against my will…and then I'd still be really cute doing it! πŸ˜‰

  15. Oh Bethany, stop being ridiculous. Our hands aren't anywhere near your hair, what, did you think we were just going to tear it out?Silly rookie. That's what the SCISSORS are for.*brandishes scissors*

  16. Bethany, *snip-snip* XD Kidding! I would never dream of touching your hair. Melvin might bite me.If I had a superpower, it would be the power to clone myself, so I can be better at multi-tasking. Nyahahahaha! Srsly.
