Andrew from Endlessly Reading tagged me in this bookish meme. Which is sort of timely since I’m doing the Tackle Your TBR Read-a-thon challenge right now (runs from Sep. 8th -20th). My TBR list is never-ending. For every 1 book I finish, I add 3 books to my pile. Call me crazy, but I live and breathe books. Well, most of the time anyway. 🙂
1. How do you keep track of your TBR pile?
Goodreads. I have post-its on my laptop screen (the digital post-its, not the paper kind), but I mostly rely on Goodreads. (Come be my friend!)
2. Is your TBR mostly print or ebook?
Print. I’ve only just gotten a Kindle last Christmas so I still have more print books than ebooks.
3. How do you determine which book from your TBR to read next?
Just whatever strikes my fancy. Or whatever I spot at the library. There’s usually no rhyme or reason to what I read next, though sometimes, if it’s a friend’s book that’s just out, I’d most likely move it up the queue just because.
4. A book that’s been on your TBR the longest?
Goodness, I don’t know. I’d scroll down my Goodreads To-Read shelf, but I’m feeling lazy right now. It’s Monday, and I’ve already done a million things before lunch, so you know. *rubs bleary eyes*
5. A book you recently added to your TBR?
This world is trying to kill Lily Proctor. Her life-threatening allergies keep her from enjoying experiences that others in her hometown of Salem take for granted, which is why she is determined to enjoy her first high school party with her best friend and longtime crush, Tristan. But after a humiliating incident in front of half her graduating class, Lily wishes she could just disappear.
Suddenly, Lily is in a different Salem—one overrun with horrifying creatures and ruled by powerful women called Crucibles. Strongest and cruelest of them all is Lillian . . . Lily’s other self in this alternate universe.
What makes Lily weak at home is what makes her extraordinary in New Salem. In this confusing world, Lily is torn between responsibilities she can’t hope to shoulder alone and a love she never expected.
6. A book in your TBR strictly because of its beautiful cover?
I wouldn’t say “strictly”. I really do want to read this and not just because of it’s awesome cover.
7. A book on your TBR that you never plan on reading?
I’ll echo Andrew’s answer here: What kind of a question is this?? If it’s in my TBR list, that means I plan on reading it. 🙂
8. An unpublished book on your TBR that you’re excited for?
Yes! My friend’s book!! It’s coming out January 2015, and you all should add this to your TBR pile ASAP!
Allison McKready is a succubus. So is her twin sister. But while Allison spends her summer break hiding in the library behind her Goth makeup, Jade fools around as often as she can. Allison can’t believe Jade would ignore their mother’s fatal example so recklessly, but concealing a cursed bloodline and its dangerous effects is far from Allison’s only problem. Mean girl Julie’s snob mob is determined to ruin her summer, and Aunt Sarah’s Bible thumping is getting louder. Only her new friend, Ren Fisher, offers safe haven from the chaos of her life.
When one of Jade’s risky dates leads to humiliation and sudden tragedy, Allison reels, and Ren catches her. But as her feelings for him grow, so does her fear that she’ll hurt him—or worse—in an unguarded moment. The choice is coming—love him or save him—but Allison might not live to make it. One way or another, the curse will have its due.
9. A book on your TBR that basically everyone’s read but you?
Hmm, probably the Shatter Me series by Tahereh Mafi.
10. A book on your TBR that everyone recommends to you?
I’m not sure. Maybe the Divergent series? I mean, I’ve already read book 1 but haven’t gotten hold of books 2 and 3 yet.
11. A book on your TBR that you’re dying to read?
Alllll of them!
12. How many books are on your Goodreads TBR shelf?
657. Wait…what? Ok, maybe I am a little bit crazy.
